Linking to your Donation Page

Please be careful placing your code into your HTML. If it isn't placed exactly as instructed, clicking will result in an error page and the intended donation will not be processed.

Tips for getting it right:

• The code should be all on one line. If your HTML editor wraps the line, that is okay as long as it doesn't break the line.
• Replace the "CAT" and "CODEID" with your assigned Charity Code in your instruction letter.
• Test the button/link. The link should take you directly to your donation page. If it doesn't work correctly and you can't figure out what is wrong, send us an email with your page URL and we would be happy to check it for you.

Terms of Use Policy

1. The Star Donor name is restricted to only authorized linking graphics as provided by us.
2. The donation page must not be enclosed within a frame. Doing so will inhibit the proper display of security features and may cause problems in processing.
3. Reverse engineering of the donation page and its code is strictly prohibited.

The authorized graphics and linking codes are displayed below. You may use your own graphics to link to your donation page. However, all graphics and links must adhere to our Terms of Use Policy.

Text Link

Copy the following code on your website to display a text link to your donation page. Replace "CAT" and "CODEID" with your assigned participation code.

Link open in new window

We suggest that you have your donation page open to a NEW window so that people do not leave your website. We have included the targeting code in the instructions above. To understand which code applies to this, see the target="new" at the end of the A HREF code before the ending >. This tells the browser to open a new secure window for the donation to be made. Once the donation is complete, the donor can close that window and continue on your website.

If it is more esthetically pleasing for your website to have your donation page open with a pop-up window instead of the full screen new window, you may do this as long as you open the pop-up using your designated donation page URL and maintain display of the security lock. Doing otherwise, will break the security and usability of your page.
